Ultrasound Pictures!

Here is the first look at the next little baby Smith! Jamie is 7 weeks along, which puts the due date at October 13th! We had her first doctor's appointment today and everything was "textbook perfect!" The doctor said he'll call it a girl because of the heartbeat rate (old wives tale), but there is no way to tell just yet :-)

Jamie is doing great - sick, hungry, tired, etc... - all good signs of a healthy pregnancy. Keep us all in your prayers that the news continues to be good. Thanks!

Trip to Vegas

Surfaces 2008

I was in Las Vegas for several days last week. My first time in Vegas - I must say that is one crazy town! I was there to get the Orchid booth ready for one of our annual trade shows. This year, I was responsible for the whole show as Marketing Manager. We had a great booth thanks to the whole team of people that it took to put on this show!

Vegas was interesting. While it was nice to have nice restaurants and shopping around, and to see the bustling city at night, I found it quite sad to walk through the casinos where people where like zombies at the machine's will and control. One of my coworkers pointed out it seemed a lot like people and addictions to the Internet - just looking at a screen for hours or days. Even at the airport there are slot machines as soon as you get off the plane!

Well, I still enjoyed Vegas and have a lot of work to do before our next show in April in Orlando!

Dad's Birthday

For my birthday, Jamie, Ryan and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast - yummm! After that we headed for the aquarium where Ryan had a blast seeing all of the fish, sharks, and other sea life. Then, for lunch we went to Abuelo's Mexican restaurant. It was a great relaxing day - just what I needed for my birthday!

First Blog!

Well,

We're new to this blog thing, but it seems like a good way to share news about our family. Jamie and I had a good birthday celebration last weekend. Jamie's friend Lex and I planned a surprise party for her at Incredible Pizza. The theme: Dodgeball the movie! It was great! Lex and Tommy made dodgeball outfits and we had a cookie cake (Jamie's favorite). We played games and had pizza. Then Lex and Jamie went off to the spa while Tommy and I went home to watch the kids.

This weekend, Jamie and I actually got out to the movies (thanks to Lex and Tommy watching Ryan) and saw The Bucket List. Great movie - sad and funny. Tonight we are headed to the Olive Garden to finish up our celebration.
